Tokyo in the rain is a different city. Neon reflects in every puddle and everyone walks two paces faster. We stayed on the fringe of Shimokitazawa, with a corner listening-bar that became the de-facto 10pm meeting spot.
First day, best day
Tsukiji for breakfast. Long, slow walk through Shibuya for lunch. A bathhouse at 9pm that cured more jetlag than two days of naps had.
Picking up the van
On the morning of day four we caught the subway out to Kichijōji and met the kei truck. It’s smaller than I expected. It’s also extremely here-we-go.
